At W S Norman Consulting Ltd we focus first and foremost on relationships within the organisation with which we are working, educating our clients with the following facts of life:

  • Most systems have typical and known capabilities, the limitations stem from the people (and their knowledge) that implement them, the processes they are being made to work with, and the integrity of the data that they are adopting.
  • Any system is there to support the business, not the other way round – this is a commonly overlooked issue.
  • Training is key, as is the timing of training – it provides confidence (and adoption) for the users.
  • Data integrity is usually the most overlooked requirement in any system implementation, and the one that causes some of the largest number of issues once the system is live and running.
  • The mechanics of fixing and implementing a broken ERP system are simple, the degree of difficulty hinges around the strength of the relationships that can be achieved with the people who own the system, and the effects of that on their willingness to adopt any changes required to make everything work as it should.
